I searched the Irish Family History Foundation's database. It has abt 11,000,000 rcds now and is abt 60% complete. Irish BMD rcds B4 1840 are sparse. Your info for Wm's Irish ancestors is limited to the surname. I tried to find a McCormick M in the years before his B date.

The earliest M rcd for the surname McCormick (+variants) is 1738 in Co. Westmeath. There are only 40 more rcd'd Ms before 1760. 27 of the 41 total Ms are in Co. Westmeath. None of these were named William.

The earliest B rcd for this surname is in 1718. There are only 60 rcd'd Bs prior to 1760. The majority of these are also in Westmeath. None of these were named William either.

If you know the names of ALL William's issue and dates of B, you MAY have a very slim chance of guessing the name of his father, assuming he followed the Irish naming tradition.

You are pushing the limits of rcd'd Irish history to the extreme. Your chances of finding Wm's ancestors are almost zero. Sorry I can't paint a rosier picture.
