I did a quick search of the Irish Family History Foundation's database for all Ireland, all years. There are 161 James Callen (+variants) B rcds and 78 M rcds. The greatest concentration is in Co. Louth with a few in Co. Dublin. A very rough estimation is that James was born abt 1810.

I found 0 rcds of any kind for the surname "Resler" and several variants. Either her name is hopelessly wrong, or she didn't come from Ireland.

I believe the U.S. census began in 1790. Suggest you start looking at the census rcds beginning in 1810 through 1860. One or more of these should list the names, country of birth, and ages of your ancestors. However, it is doubtful they would list Elizabeth's maiden name.

Once you have found these, try looking for naturalization papers which granted the immigrants citizenship. These MAY give Elizabeth's maiden name.

19th century families usually kept a family bible. These had special sections for listing family births, deaths, etc. These were inheirited by the eldest siblings. Try to find it.
