George, we are likely related on my mother's side. I've just strated working on a family tree and am trying to fill in the Clarke branch. I think the Geroge Clarke you are tracking is the one I have listed slightly differently (using information supplied in Bruce Elliot's book "Irish Migrans in the Canadas").

I have George Clarke b. Mount Shannon, Cloonolia, Co Clare 1777 d. Ottawa 1839 m. 1806 emmigrated 1819 to March, Ontario (Ottawa)

Margaret Shouldice b. 1788 d. Ottawa 1862 11 children. George Jr(my g.g.grandfather)was 2nd. Youngest was Nicholas Shouldice Clarke. Also Robert, John, Lucinda, Charlotte?

I may be confused here as George Sr. would be 33 when he had George Jr. George Jr. was reportedly born in the port of Montreal just as the ship arrived from Ireland and delayed passage on to March, Ontario.

The book points to two further generations back - if I'm on the right branch of Clarkes.
