Ralph,

We have corresponded on this matter on the Ireland Genforum. I am still waiting for something from the Ireland GRO.

I have had someone look at suitable births for the remaining children which named the mother as Mary Duggan. However, the corresponding marriage gave James's father's name as Thomas whereas on his second marriage to Mary Faulkner he said his father was James Hogan. I have therefore discounted these children and the marriage.

I imagine that since Mary Hogan gave her maiden name as Mary Gee when she married, then Gee was her mother's name either by birth or by marriage and Mary was James's step-daughter. Theoretically the other children in James Hogan's first marriage could also have been Gee.

I am inching my way forward and will let you know the outcome of the request for Mary's birth certificate.

Thank you for your interest.
Colleen
