I dont know if there is any connection between my mc donald family from westmeath but they came from the taughmon Drumhurlin area of castlepollard all i have found out so far is my great great grandfather James mc Donald Born 1831 Married Anne Mc Keone on his marriage cert in 1864 states his father as Thomas Mc Donald (Farmer) the family later Changed their name to Mc Donnell but as yet i dont have any brothers or sisters for Either James or Thomas

Ps My great grand Mother once told my mother that the family were originally from Scotland
