My parents came from the city/town of Riesi which is in the central southern part of Sicily. My dad's name was Giacomo Baglio and my mother'saiden name was Grazia (Grace) Vitellaro. They left Sicily, before WWI, when they were chidren and came to this country. I can tell you about my family here in the USA but not much about their roots in Sicily. I cannot speak the language since I have not been in the proper environment since I was a preteen. Prior to that time I spoke the language fluently. I visited Sicily and Riesi several years ago but because off my lack of communication skills, my endeavors to obtain information coupled by the limited time available, they proved to be obstacles too big to overcome. There are Baglio families in Riesi for there was a huge banner flying across the street when I arrived and it had the name Giuseppe Baglio on the banner. I believe it was an advertisement for a furniture store. Is the name Balio an offshoot of Baglio or vice versa? Where did the family originate? I have heard several versions from distant relatives. What information can you provide? I have travelled quite a bit in this country and I have found that there are Baglio families in all parts of this country. Can we swap information?
