Joellen, what area of the US are you looking for? My husband's Cianciolo ancestors changed their name to St. Charles upon arrival to America. Don't know why. I studied Latin, not Italian, so I don't even know if Cianciolo means St. Charles. Also, since it is your name, could you somehow explain to me how to pronounce it? I know it sound crazy, but his family is really depending on me to find their Italian roots.
I have his family verified until 1848 in Termini Imerese. That ancestor brought his family to America and eventually settled in Nashville, TN, after a brief stint in the Chicago area. His ancestors were produce merchants.
