hi machatunim (yiddish)means non blood relatives as those who are related to those who joined family by marriage.thus extended family if one wishes or not....

great job you have done so far -esply getting info from europe.
I noted in the ny 1850c jacob has dob of 1826.how do you know he is the right one since there are many others listed? what does family lore say his wife's name was?
also an ed dob 1834....
i wonder if jacob died by 1872 and thus jake was named for him and you also ....
