Hi Mark,
I too, am looking for Monroe ancestors and think your Samuel Monroe and my Percilla Monroe Hoober, wife of James W. Hoober, had similar migrating patterns along with another Monroe that I have oftened wondered might be related to Percilla - Elizabeth Monroe Hatfield, wife of Abraham Hatfield.

Percilla Monroe, born 25 Aug 1827 OH/IN, married James W. Hoober 4 Apr 1843 in Pike County Ohio.

Elizabeth Monroe, born 21 Dec 1830 IN, married Abraham Hatfield 28 Oct 1847 in Pike County Ohio.

Percilla and James "Hoover" were living in Jackson Township, Pike County on the 1850. In their household was a Moses "Monrode" Sr, age 55, and a Moses "Monrode" Jr. age 14. The Hatfields are also listed in Jackson Township about 10 or 11 houses away.
