I think I may have a lead on my ggggrandparents but need help. All I know for sure is her name was Margaret E. Brown (married name)born Nov 1813, in TN. died after 1900 in Benton CO., MO. According to the 1900 census she bore 3 children with only one living, a daughter Sarah Elizabeth, born May 18, 1832 in KY from whom I descend. They were in Benton CO Mo before 1848 as Sarah married Madison Golman Breshears there. We have no record of a husband for Margaret being in MO. I now found a marriage in Todd CO. Ky for Preston Shedrick Brown and Margaret Anderson in 1830 then he remarried in 1839 to Rosanna or Rosina Mimms and I find them in the 1870 census of Todd Co with a family. Did he and Margaret divorce and she came to MO with 3 children or did she die in Ky before he remarried? Tradition has it that Margaret was at least one half Native American but no proof.
