In the 1850 census, he is listed as Daniel Lagrone, 1.
1850 Gap Township, Montgomery AR. #16th family listed.

Others listed:

James N 14 M MS
John M Hale 10 M AR
William Hale 6 AR
Newton Hale 6 AR
Jasper E Hale 4 AR
Sarah Ann Hale 2 AR
Martha Lagrone 17 F AL
Ann Weldon 10 F AL
Columbus Weldon 7 M AL
Daniel Lagrone 1 AR

1860 South Fork Township Montgomery AR
Family #7
Thomas Simpson 53 M Farmer KY
Martha E 27 F AL
Frances M 15 F AL

Matilda 9 F AR
Henry C 2 M AR
Isabella 11/12 M ar
Columbus Weldon 15 M ar
D E Lagrone 10 M AR

Martha obviously has some relationship with Weldons and either Daniel is her son or is a brother. Martha married Thomas Simpson sometime beween 1850 and 1857.

If anyone has any clues to all the relationships here, please.
My husband is decended from Newton J. (actually, Jasper Newton). Someone told me a few years ago that he had a brother named Daniel LaGrone, which I filed away until I found this! I've got some info on Daniel, as I've been tracking him - hoping to find Jasper.
