The Browns would be making their home somewhere near Youngstown, OH (this is from memory; I cannot locate the announcement at this time). I am very interested in ascertaining if the August Bergquist/Berquist/Burquist in the censuses is the same August Bergquist in the marriage announcement? The August Bergquist in the wedding anouncement is the brother of my great-grandfather, John A. Anderson/Bergquist of Arnot, Bloss Twp., Tioga Co., PA. The family surname was Anderson when my great-grandfather immigrated in 1880. He entered the U.S. through the port of NYC. He changed the family name about 1892. His first two children have the surname Anderson on their baptismal certificates; my grandfather's baptismal certificate from 1894, has the surname Bergquist. August followed suit. They may have had another brother who immigrated from Sweden, and they had at least two sisters (names unk) who we think stayed in Sweden. If you know anything about these individuals please contact me. Any assistance would be most appreciated. Lynne Bergquist Howell Notify Administrator about this message?
