I am trying to determine if the Charles Larson b. 20 Aug 1894 is the son of Parma (maiden name unknown) Larson and the step-son of August Bergquist/Berquist/Burquist.
The above-referenced Charles Larson d. May 1977, and he last resided in Skandia, Marquette Co., MI.
The Charles Larson I am seeking was b. in PA in Aug 1894 (according to the 1900 Federal Census for McCalmont Twp., Jefferson Co., PA). His mother was a widow, b. Dec 1873 in Norway, and she had been in the U.S. for 9 yrs. at the time of the 1900 Census. She states that she immigrated in 1890. I do not know what Charles's father's name was.
This Charles Larson would have had the following full siblings:
1. Ellen, b. Oct 1892 in PA
2. Leonard, b. Sept 1897 in PA
He also had the following half-siblings:
1. Emma Alvern Bergguist, b. abt. 1902 in PA
2. Walter Bergquist, b. abt. 1904 in PA
3. Baynard/Bernard Bergquist, b. abt. 1906 in PA
4. Arnold Bergquist, b. abt. 1907 in PA
5. Gilbert Bergquist, b. abt. 1914
If this is the same Charles Larson, I am interested in finding out any information regarding his parents, his step-father, siblings, and half-siblings. His step-father, August Bergquist, was a younger brother of my great-grandfather, John Bergquist who resided in Tioga Co., PA.
John and August changed their surname from Anderson to Bergquist after arriving in the U.S. from Sweden.
John m. Augusta "Mathilda" Bengtson/Bengston. They had the following children:
1. Augusta Elnora "Nora" Bergquist who m. Clarence Ogden and lived in Blossburg, Tioga Co., PA
2. Emma Dorothea Bergquist who m. John Anderson and lived in Massachusetts--they had a very large family.
3. Andres Wilhelm "William" Bergquist, never married
4. Nils Daniel/"Daniel" Nels Bergquist m. Bernice Irene Phinney (my grandparents)- they had seven children
5. Esther "Christina" Bergquist, never married
6. Paul Reinbold/Reinhold Bergquist, never married
I really would like to know more about the Larson/Bergquist families.
