Hi Rose,
I am not related to the Larson's but just saw your message and ,if you have not looked at censuses,-I may be able to add some dates to your cousin's Larsons. Could not discover Alex's dad or any of his family, but know he was born in Norway abt 1837 or 1838. I wonder if Julia was really an Anderson and maybe a step daughter of Andrew Nelson????
In the 1860 census--Strong's Prairie, Adams County is:
Andrew Nelson age 60 born Norway

Lewis (Lars?) 13

Julia Anderson 22 born Norway---Julia is listed as an Anderson--but I think this is the wife of Alex Larson.
In 1870 census--still Strong's Prairie, Adams County is:

Lars (Lewis?) 23
Alex Larson 32 Norway
Julia 32 Norway (came over to US in 1843)
Ann Louise 5 WI
Martha M 1 WI and in 1880:

So Aleck/Elleck/ came from Norway as did his wife Julia. She came in 1843 but don't see when he came. Hope this helps.
