There are so many similarities in this family that I believe it is worth checking out more closely, despite the different given name for the mother.

Emibas CD:

Emibas was made from registrations in the Swedish parish to go to a foreign country. It is about 75% complete.

Your names have been Americanized from the way they were in Sweden.

The children were listed as Trulsson (son of Truls) and Trulsdotter (daughter of Truls) according to the Swedish patronymic naming customs. Perhaps that was shortened to Truls after emigrating. In the U.S., they used their father's patronymic name (The father was obviously the son of Per something else because of the patronymic customs and the mother was obviously the daughter of Sven something else because of the patronymic naming customs. I know that because of their "last" names.)

The spelling of Skone (Skåne), Nelson (Nilsson), Pearson (Persson), etc. are Americanized.

There is an excellent archive called the Swenson Swedish Immigration Research Center. It has a website but its extensive collection of records is NOT online. It has records which are difficult or even impossible to find elsewhere. You need to go there to research or pay them to research for you. I have learned much about my Swedes in the U.S. (and even where they came from in Sweden) by using their records.

To research these people in Sweden, use the Genline site (which has scans of handwritten Swedish parish records: the major source of genealogical information in Sweden) or order the same records on microfilm from any Family History Center.

If you have questions about how to research in Swedish records, post on the Sweden board. Type Sweden into the "Jump to Forum" space at the top right side of this page.
