  of 1201

My father was born on March 2, 1886. He had an eighth grade education. He apprenticed as a gunsmith, before emigrating to the US in 1905. His brother Frederich Nelsson had returned to Sweden to accompany him. They worked their way cross county and spent the first winter in Nebraska. The fallowing spring they continued until They reached the Wenatchee Valley in Washington, where Dad homesteaded on the Peshastin Creek, the canoun which is named after him. He married Eva Wilcox (Wilcox Cannion)and they had a son Carl E. Larson (July 12,1918). Eva died in 1920 (while pregenate). Carl went to live with his aunt Elva Wilcox Bergren (Eva's twin sister0,and her husbend Per August (Gus) Bergren.
Nels went to Alaska to help put in a railroad and open a mine. The following spring, the mine did not produce a profit,
The mine was closed and the railroad was removed as they left.
He returned to the Leavenworth/Peshastin area. He drove truck for John (Johny) Bergren, hauling slab wood from a local mill to the area resadents for heating and cook stoves. He found a job ,via John Hendrickson, at a local mine at Trinity (Red Mountain)Which produced Gold,Silver, lead and copper. Joyce Hendrickson (John's wife)provided me with a time card with the year 1932 on it.
I will post more latter Nels L. Larson #2 son
