Hello, I'm searching for my relatives of my great-grandpa (Amado Nassiff/Nassif) in Lebanon and/or Syria. He migrated to Cuba from Lebanon in the early 1920's from Lebanon. There he married my great-grandma, who was also Lebanese (Ofelia Elias) and were blessed with 12 children. In the last couple of years I've been trying to find relatives in Lebanon, but have not been successful. :( Since he came from a non Spanish-speaking country, we are under the suspicion that his name was changed to make it less difficult to pronounce and/or more Spanish sounding. I suspect it could've been Ahmad or Amad. However, this is just speculation. I believe his last name could've been altered as well. For example, in his legal papers in Cuba, he appears as Amado Nassiff; however, I've seen alternate spellings here in the US, like Nassif. I'm not sure if both are from the same family or not. Name: Amado Nassiff/Nassif His date of birth was July 19, 1898. His date of death was August 24, 1992. We don't know what part of Lebanon he was from. We might have family in Syria as well. Please contact me if any information is available. I'd like to meet my relatives in Lebanon. :) Masalaama, A. Toll. Notify Administrator about this message?
