Naming Patterns

Hi,

I am looking for information about naming patterns in Catholic Lebanese families. So many families have "given" names for last names: Danny THOMAS, Joseph, Michaels, George, Abraham.
Seems to suggest a pattern of patronymic names (from the father.
Any suggestion will be appreciated.
