Descendants of Yumna Merhi
Posted by: Bruce Roberts (ID *****1092) Date: September 27, 2007 at 20:10:18

My great aunt Yumna Merhi was a descendant of Kfarsghab, a small village in the north of lebanon. She had three brothers, Massoud, my grandfather, Zghir and Nemir. The brothers migrated to Australia around 1893. It is believed my aunt Yumna migrated to the USA, in pennsylvania, probably around the same time. My mother remembers her mother getting letters from yumna from Pennsylvania.
I am not sure if Yumna was "Merhi" or if she was married at the time she left lebanon.
I am having no success in finding any trace of yumna and was hoping someone "out there", particularly from pennsylvania with old records/family trees or aged relatives, may be able to help.
I know easton penn. has a strong Kfarsghabian heritage.
Hope someone can help.

Bruce Roberts
