Was Isaac his original Lebanese family name or a first name turned into a last name, like Thomas, Michaels and so many others once they arrived in the U.S.? Usually it was his father's name.

The reason I ask is that I have ancestors from Hasroun which is not far from Bcharri. Their family name was (in English) Isaac, pronouned like Iss-Hawk'in Arabic. I've seen it spelled Ishaak, Ishakk.
