Benoni Leonard married Eunice Benedict who died in 1842=my ancestor.

Benoni Leonard married the second time to Eunice Benedict Leonard, their known daughter was Cynthia Jane Leonard, born c. 1827. Eunice died 1842.

"Benjamin" Leonard who married Jane Barber had a daughter named Jane, born 1828. This "Benjamin" is not our "Benoni" because our guy was married to Eunice in 1825, had a daughter in 1827 (Cynthia Jane) and would not have had a daughter in 1828 and gave her practically the same name. Benoni could not have married Jane Barber as Eunice was still alive until 1842.

Also, there is a Benjamin Leonard's will 1852-1854 in Rome, Oneida Co., NY [New York], NY-33-12-268, Volume 12, page 268, but I do not know how or if he is related.
