Hi Helen,
I am new to this but there might be a link. My father William Love (Scotland b.1940), I have managed to get back to Andrew Love (b.1657). What brought my attention to your post was the name Geddes- we have Alexander Haye Geddes(b.1871) whose father was George Geddes (b.1840).
Elizabeth Geddes (b.1910) married Taylor Quate Love (b.1915) who was my grandfather.
