Joseph W. Love came into Lauderdale County, MS, when he was 39 years old. ( 1850 Census, Lauderdale ). He had with him a wife named Mary, 27, born in SC, a daughter Louise/Louisa who was 7, born in SC and a daughter Sarah A.E. 5, born in MS.
So Joseph W. Love had been in SC as late as 1843, but was in MS by 1845 when his youngest child was born.
By the 1860 census, Joseph W. Love was in Neshoba Co., MS and, in addition to the family there is now another child, Sarah, age 8, born in MS, who is living with them. That child has a second name like Mayo , but I really cannot determine what it is.
In 1870, there is the same family, but the previous Sarah Mayo is no longer in the household.
In 1880, There is another wife for Joseph W. Love who is now 65 years old. His new wife Sarah E. is 37 years old and there is a son Andrew B. Love who is one year old.
Joseph W. Smith states that his father was born Ireland,but his mother was born in SC.
I would like to identify this family. Can anyone give me further information? Arlina
