Charles, I found information on your James C. Love in the book, "Ancestors and Descendents of Andrew Moore, 1612-1897" by John Andrew Moore Passmore, pub. 1897. Mr. Passmore spent several decades in the late 1800's gathering a huge amount of family information, organizing the data and publishing it in two hefty volumes. If you can find a copy, you will enjoy it as I have. I found a copy in my local Historical Society Library, but there is also a copy in the local university library (which is being digitalized, so perhaps this work will soon be on line). Pp. 213/214. James C. b. 20 FEB 1819, m. 01 FEB 1843 to Ellen P. Huey. She was b. 18 JAN 1824. James C. removed from Crittenden Co. KY to Livingston Co. KY. He served as sheriff of Livingston Co, for several years. About 1860 he removed to the State of Texas. He was in the Confederate Army; d. 12 JUL 1862 in Goliad, TX. Ellen P died 29 OCT 1865 in Kauffman, TX. Page 537 lists the children of James C. and Ellen: 4 girls ( Eliza A., Fannie, Kate, and Ida) who did not survive infancy and 2 sons: Roscoe E., b 20 JAN 1847. "He is a farmer. Resides in Texas." and James C. b 3 DEC 1848, d. 16 JAN 1876 in TX, unm. James C. was the son of Arthur and Harriet (Haynes) Love. Arthur b. 15 JAN 1785 SC, m. 28 APR 1816 to Harriet, dau of Christopher Haynes of Livingston Co. KY. Arthur came to KY from SC with members of his family in 1804, d. 11 FEB 1853. Harriet b. 22 SEP 1797, d. 20 SEP 1880. Arthur (and his brother, James, my ancestor) was the son of (Col) Andrew Love, b. 12 SEP 1747, in PA . Andrew m. Anna Latimore 22 MAR 1770. Andrew d. 26 MAR 1821 in KY, Anna d. 18 MAY 1814. Andrew was the son of Alexander Love b. abt 1718, probably in Ireland, m. Margaret Moore , dau of Andrew Moore, 6 APR 1743 in PA. Margaret b. 1719, Antrim, Ireland. Alexander d. ? MAR 1784 SC. Margaret d. bet 1806 and 1807 SC. I hope you can locate the Passmore book. It has much more information that you would enjoy, I think.
