Aren't we missing an Amos Love generation?

Help!!! It seems like most of the Love genealogies are missing a generation. I am trying to establish the right connection between Alexander Love (b ca. 1680) and Amos Love (ca. 1747-1798). Most online genealogies say that the was the grandson of Alexander.

It seems to me that Alexander was not his grandfather but his great-grandfather and that we are missing an Amos. According to the book on "Reverend William Mizell and Mary Love Mizell", Amos who was born in 1747 and fought in the Revolutionary War was actually Amos III.

The author further states that Judith Love (who married Peter Greene Jr) was the daughter of Amos - not Alexander.

So is this the correct line...?

+Alexander Love (1680-1727)- married Elishe
+Amos Love I
+Amos Love II - married Mary Ingram
+Amos Love III (1747-1798) - married Mary?
