Yes, I descend from the James Love who moved from VA to Stokes NC then to Wilkes and to Mecklenburg, now Cabarrus NC. I have worked many hours on this line. My James Love came to Mecklenburg ca. 1790. I

In ca. 1784, another James Love and possibly sons John and William left out from Mecklenburg County for I believe SC. This James Love received a Rev War pay voucher in MEcklenburg and also signed a petition there. On the petition, John McEachen signed nearby.

In 1772, John McEachen and this 'other' James Love purchased land on Rocky River in now Cabarrus County. In the deed, is stated that both James Love and John McEachen are from Cumberland County NC!!!

The two moved from Cumberland where they were likely members of old Bluff Presbyterian Church in now Wade NC. They lived on Tranthem Creek of the Cape Fear River.

At the same time James Love and family left Meckleburg County NC for points south, I think his son John appeared in Cumberland County deeds as receiving from the estate of Alexander McAllister.

From your Cumberland County NC Genforum entry # 400, I see the mention of Hector McEachern and Flora McAllister.

Note that a Hector McEachen lived and died in now Cabarrus County NC. He is likely son or grandson of John McEachen of Cumberland.

Somehow these families are related. The western Nc line of McEachen to the eastern line. And also the James Love in early Mecklenburg to your Angus.

I have a little more on this stuff at my site:
