Thanks. There is no blood connection; it was a nice obit that was rare for the 1800's.
The Petray line had a branch to south central Oklahoma after 1880's; John was briefly married to my great-grandmother--his third and her second; she outlived him. John Petray's second wife was a widowed Mrs. Cannon; they had one daughter then Mrs. Cannon Petray died. One of the Cannon line married a brother of my great-greatmother---- again, no blood connection but the families liked to be in-laws.
