I'm stuck in my research. Got back as far as Andrew Love b. @1822 Buncombe NC. Married to Mary S. Hopkins (b. @1828, SC) on 1/29/1846, Macon Co. NC. Children: Cornelia F. - 1846 Macon, NC Mary Ann - 1848 Macon, NC Samuel P. - 1851 Macon, NC (my gg-grndfathr) James W. - 1853 Macon John E. 1855 Macon Emily E. 1859 Macon Dillard - 1862 Macon One of the neighbors according to the 1860 Macon Co., NC Census was Dillard Love related to the Col. Robert Love family. He lived there before moving on to Tennessee if I remember correctly. I don't know why my ancestor named a son after him. I've been trying to make a connection but nowhere have I found Andrew's name in connection with any of the records I've found on Col. Robert Love or General Thomas Love. Andrew may be the Andrew J Love who by the 1880 Macon Co. NC census had married again to a much younger wife and had four young children at the age of 56. That wife's name was Margaret R. Pendergrass. Can't prove that's the same person but he was living close to his married son and his family, Samuel. Can anybody help??
