William C Henderson The death of W. C. Henderson was announced this thursday morning, the sad event having occurred at his home on West South Street, after several years of serious affliction, during which time he became totally blind nad had been a constant care. Mr. Henderson for many years, before the loss of his eyesight, was one of the Highway commissioners of Princeton township, and served the people faithfully and well, only relinquishing this office when his eyes began to fail him. He and his wife were worthy and honored members of the Presbyterian church and esteemed citizens of Princeton. Mr. Henderson was born February 13, 1825 in Washington County, Pa., and was a son of William and Sarah (Cox) Henderson, natives of that state; and his grandfather served in the war of 1812. He was reaised on a farm until about eighteen years of age, when with his parents he went to West Virginia; and in both the old home and the new, received such education as the schools of the country afforded. In West Virginia he was married to Miss Margaret J. Milligan, a native of that state, in 1851. She died in 1852, leaving one daughter, Margaret J. Several years later he married Miss Isabelle Lucas, of Ross County Ohio, whose parents were former residents of Washington Co Pa., where Mr. Henderson was born. By this union one child came to their home, Frank, who has been for some years a farmer in Texas County Mo., but who died in 1886. W.C. Henderson came to Marshall county in 1855, where he engaged in the industry of farming. He moved to Bureau Co in 1868, exchanging his Marshall county farm for a Bureau County farm. In 1884 he rented his farm and moved into Princeton. July 5, 1900 I think W.C. might have been related to my ancestor Uriah Henderson who was born 1811 and was married in Washington Co PA. Uriah and W.C. come to the Marshall/Putnam Co area about the same time and Bureau Co where I now reside was once a part of Putnam Co. Both men had children living in the Bureau Co area. Are Uriah and W.C. related? If so HOW? Notify Administrator about this message?
