Calvin R. Luce lifelong resident of Lake Zurich A memorial visitation for Calvin R. Luce, 74, will be from 10 a.m. until the time of memorial service at 11 a.m. Saturday, at St. Peter United Church of Christ, 47 Church St., Lake Zurich. Interment will be private. Born Sept. 19, 1931, in Chicago, he died Friday, Feb. 17, 2006, in Barrington. After graduating from Ela Township High School, some of his accomplishments were becoming a Cubmaster, a Little League coach, and a deacon of St. Peter United Church of Christ. Calvin was a member of the Foglia YMCA and the American Contract Bridge League, where he made Life Master. He was the beloved husband of Lucy (nee Redmore); father of C. Robert (Maria) Luce Jr., Peggy E. (Gary) Freund and Catherine A. Helm; grandfather of Diane, Tina and Sarah Freund, Heather Helm, Emily and Jacob Luce, and David McFarlin; and great-grandfather of Morgan Leonard, Rose Freund and Payton Helm. Please omit flowers. Memorials will be appreciated for the Foglia YMCA, 1025 Old McHenry Road, Lake Zurich, IL 60047, or St. Peter United Church of Christ. Arrangements were made by Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, Lake Zurich, 847-540-8871.
