Hi Nannette. I recommend the 37-marker test because the 12-marker is only very basic and it is almost certain you will end up needing to upgrade, and then you'll have not only have to pay the additional fee but also wait weeks more for the additional results. In any case, you can order the test kit but have the kit delivered directly to your brother if you like, and ask for both of you to receive notices of test results, etc. Here are: (1) the page at Family Tree DNA where you can order the test, and (2) the main page so you can do more reading if you want: http://www.familytreedna.com/paternal_test.html http://www.familytreedna.com/default.aspx I've still been working on your line from time to time. I have different information for Margaret (Byers) Linn. The 1880 census would place her birth in about 1838-1839 rather than 1861. With that in mind, I found this burial record: Margaret F. Lynn, b. Sep 8, 1839 d May 11, 1898, buried at Kingscreek M.E. Cemetery in Salem Tshp. west of Kingscreek, Champaign Co., OH Urbana and Kingscreek are separated by only about 5 miles. Unfortunately, she is the only Lynn in the cemetery, which may mean that James's stone has been lost. Here is the usgenweb page for Champaign Co, OH where Margaret is listed: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~champaign/Kingscreekme.html I also found a Michigan marriage record for James and Margaret's son Henry: Henry Lynn of Detroit, electrician, age 25, b. in OH, son of James Lynn and Margaret Byers, married Mary Perin of Detroit, age 18, b. in Canada, daughter of Joseph Perin and Hannah (no last name listed). Marriage performed by Wm. H. Warren, clergyman, with W. L. Baker and Leo D. Williams witnessing. I have some additional information which I'm going to polish up and then e-mail to you later this week, along with an image of Henry's marriage record. Do you happen to know if James's middle initial, W., stood for William? Notify Administrator about this message?
