Jane Henderson was born in Penn Yan Ontario Co NY to Richard Henderson Jr and Anna maria Wegner. I have two dates for her marriage to Smith Legg Mallory. SH Mallory and AD Mallory were her sons....Smith Henderson and Allen D. Smith H Mallory was in the railroad and banking business...first in Batavia and then in Chariton IA. His home Ilion is being restored.
Jane's sister Anna married Smith Legg Mallorys brother
Barnum Dow Mallory, and sister elizabeth married Caleb Joshua Legg.
These were decendants of Meridah Mallory bp 15 Apr 1756 Congregational Church Washington (Sharon), Litchfield, Ct d during harsh winter 1788 New Jerusalem NY (Death Book of Universal Friend) a follower of the Public Universal Friend (Jemima Wilkinson) who removed from Ct and settled in a remote area of Western New York in c 1788. Meridah died that first winter but his three sons, John, Ephraim and Meredith servived, as did his wife, mary Barnum, who married second Judge John Dow.
meredith became a congressman in NY and Smith Legg Mallory was his son.
