I am trying to find the parents of Martha Peggie Overstreet and her brother James Overstreet. In the 1850 census for Attala county, Mississippi she and James are living in the home of A.C. Woods and Laura/Louvenia Woods. Martha Peggie and James were both listed as 11 yrs old. Was Laura/Louvenia their widowed mother now married to Woods?
She was born in Kentucky. A.C. was born in North Carolina. There were three Woods children. They were Caroline age 5, Oliver, age 3 and Joseph age 1 1/2 yrs. These children and the Overstreet children were all born in Mississippi.
Martha Peggie Overstreet married Thomas Jefferson Marble and they had several children inclusing my great grandfather Thomas Wesley Marble. These families all lived in Mississippi around Attala and Leake counties.
