Anyone have information on Martha Marble born abt 1854 in Yamhill County, Oregon, daughter of John and Hester (Cobb) Marble? They moved to Lake County, California and I find her in the 1860 census in Lake County, then in 1870 she is shown as Martha Glasscock living with her sister Elizabeth (Marble) Flinn in Colusa County. She is not found after that date.

Her marriage certificate - license in Colusa, marriage in Yolo County in Cache Creek Canyon area in 1868 - when she was about 14 years old (I know that was not unusual then) so what happened to her? Was she pregnant and that is why she was with her sister? Did she (and the baby die)? If so, where are they buried?

Daniel (Tuck) Glasscock was caught with a stolen 'red heifer' and sentenced to 5 years in San Quentin Prison - on his release he left California for Idaho where he is found in 1880 married to someone else.

Any thoughts or ideas on where I can find Martha?

Thanks so much, Margie Hinton marhinton at earthlink.net
