Found the Arkansas connection. Floyd Win Markle, owner of the general store in Stanley Idaho, was married to Nellie Pearce.

Nellie Pearce was born 15 Jan 1905 in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. She died 9 Oct 1986 in Twin Falls, Idaho.

Nellie had previously been married to Kenneth Carter.
