Dear Mathaney/any/eny Researchers,
I am researching Daniel (also seen as Danial) Mathany (born around 1821 in Virginia). According to the 1880 census, Daniel's parents were both born in Virginia as well. However, in the 1880 census and the 1860 census, Daniel, his wife Louisa and their family resided in Baltimore, Maryland.
Daniel and Louisa had many children: Virginia, James (or Jamas), Laura, Daniel, Louiza, William and Rosetta. See U.S. Census, 1860.
My line comes from James (or Jamas), who was born in 1847.
Any direction, suggestions or information on this line or Methaneys in Maryland/Virginia in the early to mid-19th century would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
