My ancestor CHARLES McCormick (1811-1880) resided in the townland of Ballymacquigan, ARTEA parish of County DERRY. He married Mary Ann McGill (1813-1888) on 9 APR 1834 at the RC chapel of St. James Newbridge (the RC church records exist). Joseph Mulholland and Margarita Devlin were witnesses for the wedding. This area is now part of the RC parish of Magaherafelt in the Diocese of Armagh. Their oldest child was James McCormick baptised 22 FEB 1835 at the same chapel. They also had children including but not limited to: CHARLES McCormick (who later resided near Alliance Ohio); Thomas McCormick who married Maragret Hennessey (in PA); Patrick McCormick (of Dunbar, PA) who married Catherine Hennessey (in PA); Catherine who married _____ Coyne (in PA) and a son John McCormick (born 1851) about who I know little. John was living with his parents in 1870 in Beaver County, PA. CHARLES McCormick and his wife Mary Ann McGill are buried at St. Mary's RC cemetery just west of New Castle (Lawrence County), Pennsylvania along with many of their oldest sons family. Do you know anything about earlier generations of McCormicks in this part of COUNTY DERRY? Thanks.
