I'm tracing our family roots back to Ireland, and having trouble finding information beyond William McCormick. He was born around 1760 in Lancaster County, PA, and died there on 5 March 1817.
He married Grissell Porter in December 1782. She was born in PA on 29 June 1763, and died there 27 June 1839.
Working backwards, their son, Robert, was born 16 October 1789 in PA, and died there 29 April 1869. He married Elizabeth Barnes on 17 August 1809, and she was born in December 1788 and died 1 August 1828, also in PA.
Working further backwards, their son, Jacob, was born 14 January 1814, in Greene County, PA, and died June 1889 in Monmouth, IL. He married Eliza Wilson on 21 April 1836, and she was born 2 December 1819 and died in 1882 in PA.
Their son, Elisha, was born 24 January 1837 in Greene County, PA, and died 24 August 1915 in Bedford, IA. He was my great grandfather, and married Susan Jane Cummings on 13 March 1861 in Warren County, IL. She was born 9 April 1842 in Lewistown, IL, and died 24 July 1916 in Bedford, IA. They had eight children.
I have a photo of the Elisha McCormick family, and would be happy to share. We're planning a trip to Ireland in the near future, and would like to find where our ancestors lived.
