I need help solving a mystery in the 1920 Census, Jefferson, Tipton, Indiana 20 and 21 ? 1920 by A J Griffith, roll T625-466, page 2B, ED 198, dwelling 44, family 44:
Sarah McNeal, head, owns, age 69, widow, born in Indiana,
Flossie, dau, age 30, widow, born in Indiana,
Sarah was married to James A McNeal Aug 1870. He obviously died before 1920, but I don't know when.
There is a woman listed with Sarah. We all know how census takers write down wrong information. Does anyone know who Flossie is? A daughter in law maybe? I've looked at Sarah and James's other children, and I have three listed but none fit a dau in law or dau for that matter esp as a widow.
1--Daniel Taylor McNEIL m Sarah Elizabeth TETER
2--Unknown McNEAL b Birth record Bk 1887-1890, pg 22. Maybe Ethel Mabel. If so, Ethel married Wm. H. Ferguson, 6 Jan 1915.
Or is this the Flossie living with mother Sarah in 1920? Mistake in census as same last name or maybe daughter in law instead of daughter?
3--William H McNEAL b 1894 d 1946
Sarah is the daughter of William WIMER, Julia WOLFORD.
I don't have parents or dates for James McNeal.
