I am looking for any information that I can find on James Higginbotham and Sarah McNeal/McNeil.
It is my understanding that James Higginbotham married Sarah McNeal/McNeil who was born about 1843 in Missouri and they had at least six children: William b. 1865, Susan b. 1867, Robert b. 1869, Mattie b. 1874, and Presley 1878. The records I have show that they lived in Marion and Henry County Missouri.
My father Louis G. Simpson was born in 1904 to Charles Oliver Simpson and Mattie Pearl Higginbotham, daughter of James and Sarah Higginbotham. My father had eight (8) siblings: Marion (Van Winkle), Pearl (Hudson), Dean, Beulah (Sweney or Sweeney), James, Edgar, Annabel (Carder) and Robert Simpson, all of who have now passed on.
My Dad married Minnie Revella Plaster in 1927 in Kansas City and shortly there after they moved to Idaho. My Dad spelled his given name Louis; however he told me that his mom spelled it Lewis.
Most of the birth dates are approximates and I might add that a lot of artistic license has been taken with the many ways they or record takers spelled their name.
All help will be greatly appreciated.
