James Mcneal, b. 1780s, settled in Leeds, Maine, by 1808; m. 1808 Abigail Hicks; 5 children b. Leeds 1809-1819; relocated to Fayette, Maine, between 1820 and 1830; probably d. there between 1830 and 1840; wife d. there 1843. Where was he from? Who were his parents? Some names in the family suggest a link with McNeal family of Rochester, NH.
