Hi Vince my MacNeill's we believe came over from Barra in 1790 on the Queen of Grenock's. One of my lines in Gillis and John Gillis born abt. 1775 born in Barra married a Ann "Nancy" MacNeil born abt. 1755 in Barra they were married in Barra and 2 of there children where born there the rest in Prince Edward Island. We have also been working on a Neil MacNeill born? he married a Mary MacLellan we think that they are from Barra but not sure. They had 1 son John Jonathan McNiel MacNeill born 13 Aug 1817 in PEI. This is all the info I have right now my cousin a Gillis went to Barra in 2003 and did some research on the Gillis and came across MacDonald's MacDougall's MacIntyre's, MacKinnon's & MacNeill's.
