Hi Vince my great great great great grandfather was Roderick Gillis born unknown he married unknown. He had my great great great grandfather 1. Roderick born abt. 1852 in Barra he married a Elizabeth? also born in Barra they had 5 children together all born in Barra 1. Donald born abt. 1780 he married a Flora MacKinnon we don't know if she was born in Barra or not. 2. Philip Finlay born abt. 1785 he married a Catherine "Kate" MacKinnon these were my great great grandparents, daughter of Donald MacKinnon she was born abt. 1788 we think in Barra? Next Peter Stephen born abt. 1786 Barra know other info on him he did come to PEI. 3. Mary born abt. 1788 she married Laughlin Gillis born abt. 1785 they were first cousins. Then I have a Elizabeth Margaret "Peggy" Gillis born in Barra but know further info on her? The first Roderick had other children a 2. William Gillis born in Barra??? we don't have any info on him. 3. Donald born abt. 1748 he married Catherine "Kate" MacDonald born abt. 1750 in Barra daughter of Donald Og MacDonald they had 4 children born in Barra 1. John born abt. 1780 he married Nancy Ann MacNeill daughter of Alexander MacNeill we think that he was born in Barra & she was born on the ship coming over or as soon as they arrived in 1790. Mary born abt. 1782 married Donald MacLellan born abt. 1770 we think in Barra his parents were John MacLellan & Catherine MacPhee both born in Scotland. Laughlin Gillis born abt. 1785 he married the Mary of Roderick & Angus born abt. 1787 he married a Christiane "Christy" MacLean we don't know if she was born in Scotland or not. John born abt. 1755 he married Ann "Nancy" MacNeil born abt. 1755 in Barra they had 2 children born in Barra William born 30 Jul 1786 he married Mary Ann Walsh born 17 Jul 1792 in Red Bank Northumberland, New Brunswick daugther of James Walsh & Ann Martin we don't have any further info on them. John born abt. 1790 he married Elizabeth "Marguerite" "Margaret" McNeil we don't have any info on her or her family. Ewen born abt. 1760 in Barra he married Marion MacLean they stayed in Barra they had a son John born in Barra he died abt. 1835 he married Mary MacIntyre from Barra they had a son Roderick born abt. 1820 in Barra he married Mary MacNeil of Barra they had a daughter Jane born ?? she married Jonathon MacKinnon of Barra they had a son Donald born? he married Isabella MacKinnon born in Barra they had a daughter Mary Kate MacKinnon born abt. 1949 in Barra I believe that she still lives there. Sorry that I was so long winded. My cousin I think met Mary Kate and she took him to the old homestead in Barra. But we have never heard from her again.
