Hi Vince,

Is the MacNeil in the study Rick MacNeil (kit: #35676)? I have been in contact with him. So you are a double MacNeil i have a similar case on my maternal side. my maternal ancestor James Vanderkooy married a Marie Vanderkooy. My relative drew up a family tree which had shown how James and Marie were related.

I was looking around and if found out that Skene (the Scottish historian) had made the mistake of adding the Clan MacNeil in the O'Neil kindred. He wrote one book that included the MacNeils being included in the kindred and then in his other book he fixes the mistake. But it seemed to go by unnoticed.

P.s. Do you know any good Nova Scotia & Scotland sources that might reveal the parents of my Robert MacNeill (McNeil, McNeil, MacNeil, McNeal)

Cheers,
Justin
