Hi Marcia,
Your McNeills are Haplogroup J2. I don't know exactly where my McNeill family came from in Scotland. My family thinks Bute or Argyll. My McNeills are in the Haplogroup I1a #35676 in the MacNeil DNA Project. My McNeill family may have relatives on PEI but i'm not sure. Me and my cousins are currently trying to identify the parents of our Robert McNeil Sr. born 1797 or 1798 in Scotland. My McNeills might be Barra but most i suspect not.
