Hi Vince, tks for that info, it is certainly worth checking out, as I had no information on any of the family at all I may have been searching in the wrong direction. I do know that Kate and her son daniel both died at home of the Black Measles and it being the winter, I am not even sure where they were buried. I was told that Daniel was taken to boisdale to be buried and when John D. returned he found that Kate was dead, but he didn't make the trip the second time because the lake was not frozen over, so she could me buried in one of those make shift graveyards in Boularderie, I can't find a record of either of them being buried in Boisdale. I also know that Dan Martin left home at the age of 12 and went to work for a harness maker in glace bay and then went in the mines in Sydney Mines until he retired at age 70 and he and his family lived in Florence. Daniel was working in Glace Bay as well when he became sick, but returned home and he died in Boularderie. It is a shame that the family didn't know anything of their grandmother because she died so young. They do remember their grandfather. Tks again for your help. Sandra
