Interesting that I have an Oscar McNeil listed as the son of Isaac & Amanda McNeil of Poughkeepsie, Dutchess Co., NY.
Isaac was the son of Isaiah McNeil also of Poughkeepsie.
Isaac had a brother Peter who moved to Corning, Steuben Co., NY in 1841 along with his wife Eliza, sister Deborah, and sister and brother-in-law Helen & William Schryver.
I have Oscar's birth year as 1850 from censuses in Poughkeepsie. I do not have any more information on him right now except his siblings I have listed as: Alida 1835, Emeline 1837, John 1838, Mary 1843, and then Oscar 1850.
I hope this helps. If it does, it could help both of us because I am stuck on Isaiah.
