Looking for parents of Emily "Emma" Catherine McPhaill, born 1859, Fannin, Texas. Emma first appears in the 1860 Fannin, Texas Census with the Robert McPhaill family: Robert McPhaill (b. 1799 N.C) and Deborah (Fowler) McPhaill (b. 1799 S.C.). John and Robert appear to be Emma's grandparents. As she is listed below Robert and Deborah's son, John (b. abt 1837, Ark), she may be John's daughter. A wife is not listed for John.
John McPhaill married Almira Cox in 1863. Some researchers show that John was previously married to an Emily, who may have died in childbirth or was living elsewhere during the 1860 census. I have wondered if Emily is Emily Perilee Cox, Almira's younger sister?
Anyone have any clues on Emily?
