Missed a generation in that last post. The great-great grandfather was Duncan McPhail, born Mearns, Renfrew on 12/4/1830. Great-great-great grandfather was Alex McFail who was married in Glasgow, Lanark on 6/6/1828. Hope that omission didn't create any confusion.
