Hello, we might be related. You see my great, great grandfather came over from Ireland with 3 other brothers. My great, great grandfathers name was William Henry McQuillan b. 1837, m. 8-28-1866 to Bridget Gallagher who was b. in Clare? Irland. They had 6 children, the youngest son's name was William Barnard McQuillan, b. 3/31/1873. He may have been named for one of William Henry McQuillan's 3 other brothers. I have a tin type photo, a family bible and a family tree. They imigrated via New Foundland, Canada, the story goes the brothers eventually split up, one went to the midwest IA, WI, ND. The other to California and the other 2 to the MA. area. My great grandfathers name was John George b. 2-22-1867, m. 1-24-1894 in elbow lake MN., He married Matilda, Myran H. Torbjor (Swedish) he died. 10-29-1948 in Hillsborough, FL. They had my grandfather William, and two daughters Beatrice (Wheeler) and Eunice (Jacob). The other children of Wm. H. McQuillan and Bridget were William James, Charles E., James Hugh, Francis Patrick and William Barnard McQuillan - notice they are all boys. My grandfather William and his wife Alice Francis McCann also had five boys, John Leo (my father) b. 1935, Joseph, Patrick, Dennis and Charles. Their birth records are either in Tampa or Bradenton Florida b/t 1935 and 1940. All but one has passed away now. I hope you find this information helpful. I've always wondered what happened to the descendants of each of the 3 or 4 other brothers in the tin type photo. Does any of this sound familiar? Notify Administrator about this message?
